Nissan Latio / Tiida / Versa

The Nissan Tiida is a subcompact car. The Tiida replaces both the long-running Pulsar and the Sunny models by September 30, 2004. Available as the Tiida in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Japan, Middle East, Mauritius, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, South Africa, former eastern bloc countries, China and Sri Lanka, it is also known in export markets as the Nissan Versa (United States and Canada) and Nissan Latio (Southeast Asia). The Tiida is based on the new global Nissan B platform with the wheelbase stretched [1]. It is available in hatchback and sedan form.
The Tiida’s styling was previewed with the Nissan C-Note show car a year before its launch. The models are characterized by being somewhat tall, a trend that resurfaced in the late 1990s. The range consists of a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan called the Nissan Tiida Latio. The Tiida became available in key eastern European markets from June 2007 and in Germany in January 2008, but Ireland was the first country in western Europe to receive the car, due to the previous popularity there of the earlier Almera sedan, and greater general popularity in Ireland of smaller sedans compared to some other European markets.
In China, the Tiida is produced by the Dongfeng Motor Company, a joint venture between Nissan and a local company. In Taiwan it is produced by Yulon. It will arrive in some Eastern European countries by late 2007 to replace the Almera small family car.
Commercial ad with Kim Cattrall, and her voice is surely very sexy.

At first looks, you will scratch your head and wonder “Wow, that’s small.” But small has its benefits and looks are deceiving. The Nissan Tiida offers room for 5 adults Yes that’s 5 adults, and its compact size allows for manoeuvering in and out of those congested and tight places.
With its zippy and quite powerful 1.8 litre 16 valve 4-cylinder petrol engine the Nissan Tiida has enough power to cruise comfortably on those long trips, and enough power to slip in and out of traffic. The Tiida comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or the optional 4-speed automatic with a lock-up torque converter.
The Nissan Tiida comes in 4 different styles: the ST, ST-L, Hatchback and Sedan. Each has an impressive array of options from form fitting seats that provide extreme comfort for those long hauls to air conditioning, power windows, cruise control an AM/FM radio with CD player, front map lights and an illuminated boot area, to name a few.
Though it may be compact, it certainly doesn’t mean safety is thrown out the window. The Nissan Tiida has quite a list of safety features including front and rear ABS anti-lock brakes, front driver and passenger airbags as well as front and rear side curtain airbags, height adjustable 3-point front seat belts, impact absorbing bumpers and an energy absorbing steering column. These are just a start.
If great petrol economy and versatility is what you’re looking for in a car, then you will want to seriously consider the Nissan Tiida today!
